Solo Exhibition : Fossilized Breaths, 2017 at Galerie Valerie Edvard

Christy Titus is a young American artist living and working in Paris. Her solo exhibition “Fossilized Breaths” was born from a compulsive line, which retraces her daily rituals. Each morning, in her studio, Christy begins with a time of meditative writing and drawing, permitting the inscription of her memory and daily inspirations into mnemonic drawings.

These small, square drawings, superimposed with words, glue, tape, and composed of transparent papers, enable us to turn the pages in order to discover the origin of each story. The familiar mediums, the fragility of the chosen papers, and the pas- tel color, together impart us with a drawing ‘haiku’.
